Now We're Farming!

We, by we I mean Piper and to a small extent me, have been waiting for this for over two months now. Piper's love of all things farm is no secret. When she came across this farm set in a catalog it was all she talked about for weeks. I loved it because it was a well made, from natural materials, beautiful, quality toy that left plenty of room for imaginative play. From there we started to bring it all together. Waiting for items to come in the mail. We've got most of it, she still has a bit left she wants - every farm girl needs a tractor. But that will have to come with time.
Its a gorgeous set! She loves it. Around here we're hearing a constant chorus of 'moos', 'baas', 'oinks', 'neighs', and bawks'. I hope our grandchildren are as into farming as our kids - its sure to be around when they come along. And won't that be wonderful!

One day Piper will be an intern at Polyface or maybe at Ninepatch...

My favorite moments are when I hear or see one of the boys "playing" on their own and using their imaginations. What a great toy to give Piper hours of that. I have no doubts Caulder will be a fan very soon if he isn't already.

Ollie,

She's already been recruited by Ninepatch to weed this summer. After an hour of weeding she gets to go to the pool...oh wait that was us. :) Or to be the Ninepatch girl at the farmers market.

Stormy,

Calder does have an interest in it now. Mostly to climb on the barn and put the animals in his mouth. He has just begun to do some solo play. He's very attached to me otherwise - the boy loves his mama. Piper is super imaginative. Its beautiful to watch her.

Love love love it! Hannah is aldo very imaginative as his her little counterpart John we get so much joy from watching them pretend play with each other. My heart floods with love just thinking about it. So happy Piper's "gift" is already bringing so much joy to your homestead.

Christina,

Imagination is SUCH a wonderful gift that nature has given children. Something they don't even need to be taught. Enjoy your little ones in their play!

Yes, the farmers are quite cute! And that baby chick! Too much cuteness.

So beautiful! My dad built us a barn when we were young. The kids were just playing with it yesterday.

That's great! I love that it was made by your dad even better.
